Abstract:Flowinduced vibration characteristics of a new type of lying up gat e were studied. The hydrodynamic loads acting on the gate under different operati ng conditions were investigated, and the value and spectral density of the pulsa ting pressure were obtained, as well as the maximum coefficient of the pulsating pressure, which provided references for design of similar gates. Besides, the s tatic and dynamic characteristics of the gate structural were studied, and dynam ic stability of hoist rod of the gate was analyzed. Response characteristics of the flowinduced gate vibration were discovered by using a hydroelastic vibra ti on model. The vibration characteristics, levels and its harm were revealed, meth ods for controlling the vibration and insuring the gate operation safety were pr esented.
