The macro-fiber composite(MFC)was introduced.According to its performance when serving as sensors and actuators,a self-sensing actuator with MFCwas designed and applied to identify the frequency response function of an aluminum alloy beam.Then,a smart structure of vertical tail was designed by using MFCin order to suppress the vibration fo the vertical tail in flight and test the feasibility of active vibration control.The experimental results show that MFC has high sensing and actuating performance and can suppress the vibration more than the piezoelectric ceramics.
