Abstract:This paper presents dynamic response analysis models of a simply suppo rted beam and a cantilever beam both subjected to a moving mass, respectively. The two models both considered influences of the gravitational force of the movin g mass, the Corilous acceleration and its inertia acceleration on the lateral vi bration of the beam. The individual and coupling effects of the velocity of the moving mass on the dynamic response of beams was investigated. A dynamic respons e measuring system for beams subjected to a moving mass was developed. The dynam ic response curves were obtained under different specification standards of movi ng masses exciting on beam at different velocities. The experimental results sho w that the model of cantilever beam is accurate.
