Abstract:The frequency of train wheelshaft load impacting on the rail rises after the train speed is raised, and the possibility of rattling increases for a b ridge length of span longer than 32 meters. In this paper, a vibration equation of a railway bridge was presented and the relationship between the train speed and the frequency of the load striking the rail was analyzed. Based on the rattli ng model presented in this paper two damping methods were proposed: adding some elastic links between the coupled singlerow bridges (or between the two Tsha ped girders), or adding tuned mass dampers in the middle of the bridge.
