A modal testing method for latticed shell structures was presented. The technique combined single-point transient shock excitation and complex mode in di cation function method. Through the optimal position selection of shock excitati on, intensive modals could be separated and the overlap between intensive modes lightened. A complex mode indication function method was an advanced modal ide ntification method in the frequency domain. It could auto matically determine modal parameters with a high-speed, so it is better than traditional peak-pick method. Nu merical simulation was done. The results show that it has good validity and accuracy to modal parameter identification of reticulated shell str uctures.
