A novel method to locate the composite impact damage based on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) network is developed. This method can locate the impact damage only by measured the maximum strain and the relative location of all sensors. The validating test is completed on the composite laminates used for some airc raft. The results show that the average error of impact location between FBG m onitored and actual impact points is only 1.26 cm.
