An improved method for multi-point measurement of sliding bearing oil film thickness is proposed based on a two-point measurement of sliding bearing lubricating oil film thickness. The method reduces calculation errors caused by the change of rotor shaft radius because of wear, simplifies the calcu lation and increases the operation speed. Then, a three- point measurement system with fiber-optical sensor of displacement is designed to measure the thickness of the lubricant film. Finally, the experimental result shows that the t hree-point measurement based on the fiber -optical sensor is a useful lubricant film measurement method.li improves measurement accuracy and solves the difficulty of measurement device installation.
