Abstract:Based on the research in damage identification and damage localization , model test method appears to be of great importance in the field, because that on one hand the application of destructive test on actual bridges is intolerable, and on the other hand numerical simulation goes with great limitation. With reference to the Runyang suspension bridge, a suspension-bridge model is designed and manufactured for damage identification of structures. Subsequently, the detailed dynamic test of the modal structure and the study of the applicability of modal identification using Morlet wavelet transform are carried out. Besides, some improvements are suggested to the modal identification using Morlet wavelet transform, which are verified by a modal test and analysis.
