In order to research the design method of the board-structure linear ultrasonic motor (LUM), a new LUM is proposed. The stator of this kind of motor is a fan-shaped structure consisting of 4 Langevin oscillators, of which structure is highly compact and the energy density is large. Langevin oscillator has obvious longitudinal vibration node, in which the clamping of the motor can be designed.Firstly the structure of stator is proposed. And then the movement mechanism is analyzed. Finally the prototype is developed. The experiments show that this motor runs steadily, the maximum thrust is 15.3 N, the speed is 1.2 m/s and the thrust to weight ratio is 5.4.
