Abstract:A new approach for analyzing wind-induced response and corresponding equivalent static wind loads (hereafter referred to as ESWLs) is firstly presented by consistent coupling method (hereafter referred to as CCM) based on modal acceleration method and load-responses correlation method. Firstly, the refined definition of cross term between background and resonant component is explained based on mode acceleration method, the covariance matrixes of coupling elastic restoring force and resonant elastic restoring force are proposed; secondly, CCM is put forward based on covariance matrix theory, which calculates background, resonant component and cross term, and the ESWLs of every component is derived by load-response-correlation theory. Finally, the calculation of wind-induced response and ESWLs for long span roof demonstrates the superiority and effectiveness of the present approach, the characteristics of wind-induced response are extracted. A new thought is proposed to analyze characteristics of wind induced responses and mechanisms of actions
