Abstract:This paper examines the relative transverse sensitivity calibration technology of high shock triaxis accelerometers. The latest established national standard normalizes the relative transverse sensitivity parameter of accelerometers. While this is an important index, it applies only to single dimensional accelerometers. To extend the index to calibrations of high shock tri-axis accelerometers, a method was adopted to collect data and calibrations based on an air gun, using linear line fitting to replace the calibration curve and computing relative transverse sensitivity with division of lateral chip output and main axis chip, which makes it more convenient for users to evaluate performance. This will perfect the testing and calibrating method of relative transverse sensitivity for the tri-axis accelerometer. Compared with others, the adopted calibration device and method not only showed high peak value and wide pulse duration, but also presented the complete output performance of three axes.
