Abstract:To study the effects of modification factor and elastic support on the vibration problem, GalerkIn’s method is utilized to derive the governing equation of the modified clamped-clamped pipe with elastic support, and a general expression for forced vibration is obtained finally. It is found that natural frequency under laminar flow model is less than that under ideal model (plug flow); critical divergence velocity of the former model is lower of 13.4 percent than that of the latter one, according well with theory; natural frequency oscillates as the implementation position of the spring, but will never exceed that without spring. The proposed method can be treated as the basis when designing supports, it can be radiated to study vibration problems of other types of pipes and provide accurate results for designers.
